Cancer also enters the world of work and is a challenge to overcome, whether for the employee, the employer, or the person carrying out an independent activity. The disease has significant impact on the world of work, whether human, organizational, or financial. The Vaudoise Cancer League commissioned Get it studio to develop a series of informative videos. The objective was to provide information about maintaining good health and especially the return to work of people affected by cancer.

Our approach

The main challenge was to explain that each situation is unique and that the LVC can provide solutions according to individual professional and personal situations. The idea was to tell the stories that LVC encounters every day. These stories portray distraught employers, worried colleagues, and, above all, the sick who, despite their struggles against the disease, have the will to resume a “normal” working life.

In collaboration with the LVC, we concentrated on typical cases they are confronted with on a regular basis; who the people are, what their personal lives are like, and how they can be helped. 5 characters were born: David, Brigitte, Mickael, Melanie, and Roland. Thanks to them, we were able to represent the difficulties, the doubts but also the hopes of all those touched by cancer in a professional context.

The chosen animation technique is cell animation. It is a technique of traditional animation, where each image is drawn by hand. Each second is composed of 12 images, which creates a vivacious movement. In adding a very human touch, this technique amplifies the emotions associated with the theme. To facilitate the realization of thousands of drawings, we filmed directly with a smartphone. Every illustrator who then worked on the project was able to "shift" the sequences that we had shot, frame by frame.
